Regional offices respond to member needs on a more localized basis, serving as an extension of headquarters as well as developing region-specific programs. Each region gathers industry leaders for an annual conference to exchange views and explore current topics of interest, and chapters within each region hold regular meetings. Regional offices also are the focal points for activities such as:

• Supporting community involvement activities by plastics industry companies through the Plastivan and other programs.
• Referral services that provide business opportunities.
• Sponsorship of benchmarking programs.
• Support for state-level plastics "summits" and plastic industry days.
• Membership recruitment/retention.
• Direct staff support and assistance to SPI business units with a need for regional programs.
• Workshops on worker health & safety.
